Iran Calls For Intra-Yemeni Dialog Without Foreign Interference
On Thursday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry called for launching intra-Yemeni dialogue “away from foreign interference” to settle that nation’s crisis.
Yemen is facing “the worst humanitarian catastrophe of the century,” a ministry statement said.
This was on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the Saudi-led coalition’s war and blockade.
Iran’s ministry also said it supports any “initiative for the removal of the blockade, establishment of truce” and the beginning of intra-Yemeni negotiations.
The Gulf Cooperation Council has invited Yemeni parties for talks in the Saudi capital, Riyadh on March 29.
This will be to discuss comprehensive peace in the country.
The Yemeni government welcomed the invitation.
However, the Houthi group said any dialog must be held in a neutral country.
