Investigation launched after driver broadcast Islamophobic content on vehicle in Canada
ISTANBUL (AA) – An investigation was launched Thursday into “a hate crime” by a driver who broadcast Islamophobic content from a digital screen on top of a moving vehicle in Toronto, according to police.
The video contained anti-Islamic statements after displaying footage of Muslims praying.
The Hate Crimes Unit started an investigation into the incident, Toronto Police wrote on X.
The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) posted an image of the vehicle from X and said: “This is an extremely dangerous message and should not be tolerated.”
