Instagram introduces built-in safety protections for teens
Instagram is rolling out new Teen Accounts, automatically placing teens under built-in protections to enhance their safety on the platform.
The move was announced by parent company Meta.
It aims to limit who can contact teens, the content they view, and ensure meaningful time spent online.
Meta claims that this will provide parents with peace of mind, knowing their children are safe on social media.
Teens will be able to personalize their experience by selecting preferred content topics. However, those under 16 will need parental permission to modify the strict settings.
