Indonesia to convert waste into fuel, power in 30 big cities
JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) —Indonesia is targeting to process waste into fuel and electricity in 30 major cities by 2029.
It will generate around 20 Megawatts (MW) of electricity per city, totaling 600 MW. Besides, it will also produce fuel oil through waste, using pyrolysis technology, reported Indonesia Business Post.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, says waste can be converted into electricity and fuel oil through integrated waste processing with the help of technology.
The Ministry of Environment said that this would support waste management efforts.
Meanwhile, the government is preparing three presidential regulations related to waste management to support the processing of waste into electrical energy.
