Indian activist alliance links Hindutva-Zionism to rising Islamophobia
Rights groups urge India to return to its anti-colonial foreign policy, condemn Israel’s occupation, and mobilize nationwide boycotts and protests
NEW DELHI, India (MNTV) – An alliance of Indian activist groups has strongly condemned the ideological alignment between India’s ruling Hindu nationalist movement and Zionist Israel, linking it to rising Islamophobia, communal violence, and repression within India.
The alliance has also called for global solidarity with Palestine, denouncing Israel’s occupation, apartheid policies, forced displacement, and systematic violence as crimes against humanity.
The National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) urged the Indian government to return to its historic anti-colonial foreign policy, unequivocally support Palestinian liberation, and end its cooperation with Israel’s military-industrial complex.
The group criticised India’s growing defence and trade ties with Israel, arguing that these relations enable Israeli aggression against Palestinians while emboldening domestic repression and state-sponsored Islamophobia in India.
As part of its campaign, NAPM has urged Indian civil society to intensify the Palestine solidarity movement, calling for:
- Boycotts of Israeli products and companies complicit in war crimes
- Mass mobilization of protests and awareness campaigns through trade unions, student groups, and secular political parties
- Public meetings, conferences, and rallies to educate the public on Palestinian resistance
Additionally, the alliance pledged to push for an International Public Tribunal to document Israeli war crimes, build national and international coalitions to demand an end to apartheid and occupation, and ensure that Palestinian voices reach global platforms.
The call for solidarity comes as violence in Gaza and the West Bank escalates, with Israeli military operations resulting in widespread civilian casualties.
Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have classified Israel’s policies as apartheid.
With growing support for the Palestinian cause worldwide, NAPM is urging Indian and international activists to reject state-sponsored repression and stand in defence of justice, human rights, and self-determination for the Palestinian people.
The Indian activist alliance also urged world leaders and civil society to push for Palestinian sovereignty and ensure justice for the victims of decades-long occupation.
