Houthis report 6 US, UK raids on Al Hudaydah province
SANAA, Yemen (AA) – Yemeni Houthis on Wednesday said the US and the UK carried out six overnight airstrikes on several areas in the Al Hudaydah province in western Yemen.
“The American-British aggression targeted the Al-Araj area in Al Hudaydah with four raids,” reported the Houthi-run Saba news agency.
The Houthi Al-Masirah Channel earlier reported two raids on the Jabanah area in the northern Al Hudaydah province.
The Jabanah area contains an air defense military site for the Houthi group, and has been targeted several times by US and UK forces.
No details on casualties or material damage were provided.
The US and the UK have yet to confirm the strikes.
The Houthis have been targeting cargo ships in the Red Sea owned or operated by Israeli companies or transporting goods to and from Israel, in solidarity with Gaza, which has been under an Israeli onslaught since Oct. 7.
Since Jan. 12, a coalition led by the US has carried out intermittent airstrikes on Houthi targets in parts of Yemen in response to the attacks in the Red Sea.
The group has declared it considers all American and British ships to be legitimate military targets.
The Red Sea is one of the world’s most frequently used sea routes for oil and fuel shipments.
