Harris offers ray of hope for Free-Palestine advocates
Although Vice President Kamala Harris is closely connected to the US Jewish community through her husband, Doug Emhoff, she has taken a strong stance against Israel’s war on Gaza.
Harris has been seen as the “bad cop” in the Biden administration’s approach to Israel.
Harris, who previously called for a cease-fire and increased aid to Gaza, is seen as a potential ally for Palestinian rights by some.
Advocates, including Rev. Michael McBride and Waleed Shahid, believe Harris might offer a more empathetic approach and challenge the Democratic establishment’s alignment with pro-Israel lobbies.
