Hamas’ military wing releases video of Israeli captive
GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) – The Qassam Bridges, the armed wing of Palestinian resistance group Hamas, has released a short video of an Israeli in its captivity.
Hisham al-Sayed appeared in the video clip laying on a bed with an oxygen mask on his face and his Israeli ID card beside him.
This is the first time Hamas released details about the conditions of Israeli captives held by the group.
On Monday, the military wing had announced “a deterioration in the health of one of the enemy prisoners.”
Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, is believed to hold four Israelis — two of whom were captured following the 2014 Israeli offensive on Gaza. Two other Israelis are believed to have been held after they entered Gaza under “unclear circumstances.”
Hamas hopes to swap the Israeli captives for at least some of the 4,600 Palestinians languishing in Israeli prisons.
