Greece Rejects US Proposal To Supply Ukraine With Weapons
Greece rejected a U.S. proposal to supply Ukraine with more Russian-made weapon systems, media reports said Wednesday.
Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos gave an indirect but negative response to the proposal brought by visiting U.S. Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland.
Panagiotopoulos said Greece cannot compromise its defense capabilities.
Media reports say Greece was approached by the U.S. through informal channels to provide Ukraine with Russian-made air defense systems.
