Good deeds surge: 40 percent Americans embrace generosity as 2024 nears end
A recent survey reveals that four in 10 Americans are ramping up their good deeds as 2024 nears its end.
Conducted by Talker Research for Avocado Green Mattress, the poll shows that 43% are increasing giving, volunteering, or donating during the year’s final months.
Younger generations lead the charge, with 59% of Gen Z and millennials doing more, compared to 37% of Gen X and baby boomers.
Challenges like financial constraints, health issues, and limited time were cited as barriers to doing more.
Despite this, respondents plan to spend an average of eight hours weekly on altruistic pursuits, with 44% participating in Giving Tuesday.
Motivations for doing good include the joy of giving, finding purpose, and improving the world.
Notably, 38% find it easier to do good during the holidays, highlighting a collective commitment to end the year on a positive note.
