Georgetown University Honors Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid And Archbishop Blase Cupich
Georgetown University awarded Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid the 2021 Building Bridges Lifetime Achievement Award for his work for justice and human rights.
The award was presented by Georgetown professor and scholar of Islamic studies John Espisito.
Mujahid is the founder of Justice For All, and president of the Sound Vision Foundation.
John J. DeGioia of Georgetown University hosted the event at Georgetown’s historic Riggs Library.
Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, was also given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Georgetown University’s Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding conferred the awards.
Previous winners include renowned Catholic theologian Hans Kung and professor of Islamic studies Ingrid Mattson.
