Gaza reels as Israel kills 70 Palestinians in 24 hours
UNICEF reports killing of 74 children during the first week of 2025

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed at least 70 Palestinians and injured 104 others in the last 24 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry reports.
Among the victims were three young girls and their father, killed in Nuseirat refugee camp.
Gaza’s civil defence agency confirmed their home was struck by an Israeli airstrike.
UNICEF reported that 74 children were killed in Gaza during the first week of 2025.
Eight newborns have died from hypothermia since late December, with over a million children living in freezing makeshift shelters.
The United Nations warned that Gaza’s fuel supplies are exhausted. Hospitals cannot power generators, putting patients and newborns at severe risk.
Meanwhile, over 800 parents of Israeli soldiers imprisoned in Gaza have urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to end the war, fearing Gaza will become a “cemetery for their children.”
Israeli media revealed that 10 soldiers died in Beit Hanoun in two weeks. According to figures released by the Israeli army, at least 831 soldiers have been killed and 5,589 others injured in the Gaza war so far.
Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 46,006 Palestinians and wounded 109,378 since October 7, 2023, cutting the battered enclave’s population by 6%.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on Gaza.
