Gaza death toll from Israeli attacks surpasses 27,700
ANKARA (AA) – Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday that at least 27,708 Palestinians have been killed and 67,174 others injured in Israeli attacks in the seaside enclave since Oct. 7.
A ministry statement said Israeli attacks left 123 people dead and 169 others injured in the last 24 hours.
“Many people are still trapped under rubble and on the roads and rescuers can’t reach them,” the statement said.
Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since an attack by Hamas in October which Tel Aviv says killed 1,140 people.
About 85% of Gazans have been displaced by the Israeli onslaught, all of them food insecure, according to the UN. Hundreds of thousands of people are living without shelter.
