Gerald Darmanin condemned the “ordinary racism” of people for his April 1 tweet wishing all Muslims in France a “happy Ramadan.”
The controversial French Minister has announced shutting down 92 mosques in 2021.
In January, Al Jazeera reported that a group of lawyers, NGOs and religious bodies from 13 countries submitted formal complaints to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
These called for action against France’s “breadth of state abuse against Muslims” stretching back more than two decades.
