Floods in South Sudan affect 1.4 million people: UN
Devastating flooding in South Sudan has affected approximately 1.4 million people.
The U.N. office in the East African country said there has been flooding in 43 counties and the Abyei Administrative Area.
It added that more than 379,000 people were displaced in 22 counties and Abyei.
The agency said a surge in malaria has been reported in many areas, overwhelming the health system and worsening the situation and impact in flood-hit areas.
The rainfall and flooding is the worst in decades.
