Feds charge that white supremacist group plots high-profile assassinations
A federal indictment has revealed a white supremacist group planned high-profile assassinations of a U.S. senator, a judge, and others.
Leaders of the group known as the Terrorgram Collective allegedly incited followers to commit hate crimes against Black and Jewish people, immigrants, as well as the LGBTQ+ community.
Two of the extremist group’s leaders, Dallas Humber and Matthew Allison, face 15 counts each.
The indictment also said the duo created, edited and distributed a digital publication that gave instructions on how to run a terror cell, determine targets to attack, and a guide for creating bombs and explosives.
Charges include soliciting hate crimes and providing support to terrorism.
Prosecutors say Humber and Allison encouraged attacks on infrastructure to fuel a race war and societal collapse.
They also said multiple attacks or planned attacks in recent years can be tied to the group.
The UK government designated the Terrorgram Collective as a terrorist group in April, according to the UK interior ministry website.
