Far-right Laura Loomer sues her own lawyer
TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Ultra-right conservative Laura Loomer has sued her attorney for leading her to file a lawsuit against the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Twitter.
Loomer, a Florida Republican, who lost Congressional District primary last year is known for her anti-Muslim positions.
She was banned from the social media platform after complaints.
She said a New York Attorney Ronald Coleman convinced her to file a lawsuit against CAIR and the microblogging platform.
Blaming the lawyer for not pursuing the case seriously, Loomer said she was not informed about the risks of litigation.
She lost the case and had to pay more than $160,000 in costs and attorney fees to the other side.
She said the attorney did not give her an honest or accurate assessment of the merits of the case.
The lawsuit filed in the circuit court of 15th judicial circuit in Palm Beach County stated that Coleman’s negligence, and his abandonment of Loomer led the Magistrate Reinhart to issue an adverse order.
In her prayer, she has sked for an amount in excess of $10 million or determined by a jury at trial as damages “for malicious tortious concerted conduct, jointly and severally.”
