Face recognition technology speeds up platform queues in Indonesia
JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) — When the Eid homecoming season arrives, train stations in Indonesia are often crowded. During peak hours, the passenger flow often gets stuck at the boarding gate.
A railway operator, Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), is using face recognition technology to make it easier for passengers so they don’t need to show physical documents, reports Tempo.co. In this technology, passenger data has been integrated with train ticket data.
Face recognition technology services can also be used through the Access by KAI application.
The face recognition technology uses user data with international standard ISO 27001. Passenger data is automatically stored for one year, and can also be deleted according to user’s wishes. The stored data is only used for the boarding process.
