EU extends sanctions against Kurdish nationalist groups
BRUSSELS (AA) – The European Union has extended sanctions against Kurdish nationalist groups PKK and TAK, as well as Marxist revolutionary group DHKP/C for another 6 months as it updated its list of ‘terrorist’ entities.
The EU’s terrorist list has been renewed and upheld for a further six months,the Council of the European Union announced in a statement.
The blacklist list continues to feature 13 persons and 21 entities or groups who are subject to restrictive measures.
MIlitant group- IBDA-C is also among the sanctioned.
These sanctions entail the freezing of financial assets in the EU of the enlisted persons and groups, as well as a ban on EU operators against making any economic resources available to them.
The EU applies a separate sanction mechanism for al-Qaeda and ISIS.
