Egypt, Greece hold talks on bilateral cooperation
ISTANBUL (AA) – The foreign ministers of Egypt and Greece held talks in Cairo on Sunday to discuss ways of boosting their bilateral relations.
According to Egypt’s state news agency MENA, the top diplomats exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
“Egypt’s relations with Greece have become strategic in the full sense of the word,” Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told a joint press conference.
He said the talks with Nikos Dendias took up bilateral cooperation in many fields, including energy.
The Egyptian minister said Cairo and Athens agree on the importance of holding elections in Libya at the earliest possible time.
Dendias termed Egypt “more than a strategic friend” to Greece.
