Egypt climbs in latest FIFA World Rankings
CAIRO, Egypt (MNTV) – The Egyptian national football team has advanced in the FIFA World Rankings.
According to FIFA’s April update, Egypt now holds the 32nd position globally, marking a one-place rise from its previous 33rd-place ranking in December 2024.
On the continental level, Egypt maintains its standing as the third-best team in Africa.
This improvement follows Egypt’s recent victories in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where the team secured wins against Ethiopia and Sierra Leone in the fifth and sixth rounds.
These results contributed additional points to Egypt’s ranking total, which now stands at 1518.79—up from 1513.48 in the previous assessment.
In the African rankings, Morocco leads as the continent’s top team, holding 12th place globally, followed by Senegal in 18th.
Algeria ranks fourth in Africa and 36th worldwide, while Nigeria rounds out the top five African teams at 43rd globally.
At the global level, reigning World Cup and Copa América champions Argentina retain their position at the top of the rankings. Spain follows in second place, while France has dropped to third.
The updated rankings reflect Egypt’s steady progress as the team continues its campaign in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
