Democrats unveil task force to combat far-right Project 2025
Democratic lawmakers are countering a far-right agenda called Project 2025 with the Stop Project 2025 Task Force.
Led by Jared Huffman, the task force aims to coordinate efforts among members of Congress, civil society, and affected communities to counteract what they view as an attack on democracy.
The right-wing Project 2025, outlined in a 920-page agenda, seeks to dismantle environmental protections, eliminate the Department of Education, restrict abortion rights, and deport undocumented immigrants.
Project 2025 is backed by figures like Russ Vought and John McEntee and funded by networks including those led by Leonard Leo and Charles Koch.
It also aligns with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign promises.
