AMMAN, Jordan (AA) – The death toll from the September 13 building collapse in the Jordanian capital Amman has risen to 14 with another body pulled out from under the debris.
“After difficult, continuous and multiple search and rescue operations that lasted over 84 hours, the search and rescue teams were able to evacuate the last body from under the rubble,” Public Security Directorate spokesman, Amer Al-Sartawi, said in a statement.
He said 10 people were also injured in the collapse.
A four-storey residential building had collapsed in Amman on Tuesday.
The cause of the collapse remains unclear and Jordanian authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Authorities have charged three people, including one of the owners of the ill-fated building, with multiple accounts of death and harm.
