Comic book company announces death of popular character
JERSEY CITY, New Jersey – Comic-producing company Marvel Comics has announced the death of its popular character Ms. Marvel. The company said on its website that the character will die on May 31 while making a heroic sacrifice alongside Spider-Man to save the universe.
The death of the popular character has angered many fans.
A Jersey City born Pakistani-American Kamala Khan was playing the role of Ms. Marvel. She was the first Muslim superhero and a mentee of Captain Marvel.
According to Marvel, the comic character will give her life so the Marvel Universe can live on.
The company shared that the character’s eternal legacy and this storyline will be launched in July with a special one-shot, ‘Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel’.
In the history of comics, the death of characters is quite common.
The company said that the death of Ms. Marvel will be a pivotal chapter in the Marvel mythos.
The company’s website says it will be both a farewell for Ms. Marvel and a glimpse into the impact her death will have on all Marvel heroes.
The announcement comes a year after the series launched on Disney Plus.
The series features Kamala, who is obsessed with the Avengers and struggles to fit in at school and home until she is given superpowers.
According to the Marvel website, she interns at Oscorp Industries to keep an eye on the owner and Spider-Man’s enemy Norman Osborn.
