Coalition Condemns GEICO For Canceling Linda Sarsour Event
An interfaith coalition of civil and human rights organizations are condemning US insurance company GEICO.
That is for canceling an event last week celebrating National Arab American Heritage Month.
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee criticized GEICO for publicly attacking its invited speaker, Linda Sarsour.
GEICO initially announced the Palestinian-American Muslim activist would speak at an event celebrating Middle Eastern and North African history.
Anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim organizations attacked Sarsour and the company, which then cancelled the entire event.
GEICO accused Sarsour of practicing “hate” and “exclusion.”
In a joint statement, over 60 civil and human rights organizations condemned GEICO “for bowing down to anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian hate groups.”
