Chinese president arrives in Saudi Arabia for official visit
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday evening for an official visit.
Xi was welcomed at King Khalid International Airport by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar.
During his stay in the oil-rich kingdom, the Chinese president will attend the first China-Arab summit and the China-Gulf summit in Riyadh. He will also hold summit talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The Chinese president’s visit comes three months after US President Joe Biden visited Riyadh amid an energy crisis caused by the Russian war on Ukraine.
Xi’s last visit to Saudi Arabia was in 2016.
