China welcomes Israel-Hamas truce deal
Beijing, China — AFP
China has welcomed the deal between Israel and Hamas for a four-day humanitarian pause in exchange for the release of 50 hostages in Gaza.
“We welcome the temporary ceasefire agreement reached by relevant parties and hope that it will help ease the plight of the humanitarian crisis, de-escalate the conflict and ease tensions,” foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told a regular briefing.
The truce deal aims to halt the bombing and ground offensive for four days, allowing aid to move in. It also includes prisoner swap.
