China, Pakistan start joint naval drill in East China Sea
ANKARA (AA) – China and Pakistan started Sunday a four-day joint naval drill in the East China Sea.
The maritime drill, named Sea Guardians-2, is an annual exercise between the two countries, Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
The exercise off Shanghai is not related to any regional situations and does not target any third party, said Liu Wensheng, spokesperson for the People’s Liberation Army Navy.
The drill aims to enhance cooperation and deepen the friendship between Beijing and Islamabad, according to the report.
