Chicago students arrested for demanding end to Israel’s wars in Gaza, Lebanon
At least three people were arrested on Friday during a student-led walkout at the University of Chicago calling for an end to Israel’s wars in Gaza and Lebanon.
Just after 2:30 p.m., more than 150 students and some faculty walked out of class.
This was to protest the university’s investments in weapons manufacturers supplying the Israeli military.
Organized by the student coalition UChicago United for Palestine, the walkout was part of “Week of Rage.”
This was a week of protests on college campuses across the country, called by the national Students for Justice in Palestine organization.
They mark one year since Israel’s war on Gaza began.
