Job Summary:
Muslim Network TV, North America’s premier news and lifestyle channel, is seeking a Producer for its upcoming, daily magazine-style TV show. This dynamic program will feature stories highlighting the voices, achievements, and issues that impact Toronto’s vibrant Muslim community.
As the Program Producer for this new show, the successful candidate will lead the content direction of the proposed show and contribute to its design process. The ideal candidate has a strong background in shaping digital content.
This role reports to the Production Manager at Muslim Network TV and will work closely with our marketing and executive leadership.
The candidate must be a resident of Toronto, preferably Mississauga.
Key Responsibilities:
- Show Planning & Content Creation:
- Understand the theme and content of the central concept (already in place) and use it to build the series without deviation or dilution.
- Develop and implement the editorial vision for this daily show.
- Plan and organize news stories, segments, and feature interviews that align with the show’s theme and audience interests.
- Research and curate relevant content on community events, current affairs, and cultural topics.
- Production Oversight:
- Manage the daily production schedule, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Work closely with hosts, reporters, videographers, and editors to ensure high-quality content.
- Oversee live and recorded segments, ensuring smooth execution during broadcasts.
- Team Collaboration:
- Lead a team of writers, researchers, and segment producers to brainstorm and execute innovative ideas.
- Coordinate with technical crew to ensure seamless visuals, audio, and live feeds integration.
- Guest Coordination:
- Identify, invite, and coordinate with guests for interviews and unique features.
- Prepare pre-show briefs and manage on-air interactions
- Quality Control:
- Review scripts, visuals, and final edits to ensure factual accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with the network’s values.
- Maintain the show’s tone, style, and editorial integrity.
- Audience Engagement:
- Monitor audience feedback and ratings to refine content strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the show across social media and other platforms.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a TV producer, preferably in news or magazine-style programming.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Production or Communications, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of the Islamic faith and the Toronto Muslim community.
- Excellent storytelling, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Nice to have: Proficiency in video editing software and production equipment.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle live productions with ease.

This program will showcase news, features, and stories that reflect the lives, achievements, and issues that impact Toronto’s vibrant Muslim community. He will serve as the face of the show, delivering content professionally, engaging with guests, and connecting with the audience on a meaningful level.
In addition to the qualifications below, candidates must ideally be residents of Toronto, preferably Mississauga.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Air Presentation:
- Deliver news updates, feature stories, and unique segments professionally and engagingly, recognizing the vital role of our audience in our broadcast.
- Provide smooth transitions between segments, ensuring the show maintains a cohesive flow.
- Maintain a confident, authentic, and personable on-screen presence that resonates with the audience.
- Interviewing & Hosting:
- Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, including community leaders, experts, and everyday heroes.
- Engage guests in thoughtful, informed, and dynamic discussions.
- Prepare and ask insightful questions to draw out compelling narratives.
- Content Preparation:
- Collaborate with producers to review scripts, show rundowns, and key talking points.
- Research topics and stories to ensure accurate and informed presentation.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- A degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field would be ideal. However, an equivalent combination of education and proven experience facing the camera will also be considered.
- Skills:
- High fluency in spoken English. Familiarity with an additional language (Urdu, Arabic, or another) will be good to have.
- Strong, spontaneous on-camera presence with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and handle live broadcasting situations.
- In-depth knowledge of the Toronto Muslim community, its culture, and current affairs.
