Job Summary:
The Micronews Producer and Editor is responsible for creating, editing, and publishing short-form news content across various platforms. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong storytelling skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a digital journalist with a passion for breaking news and a deep understanding of current events.
The Muslim News Anchor is responsible for presenting news stories and other content in a professional and engaging manner. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong on-camera presence, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned journalist with a deep understanding of current events and a passion for delivering news that matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Production: Create engaging, accurate, and timely micronews segments from inception to final edit.
- Editing: Edit news segments for clarity, accuracy, and coherence, ensuring they meet editorial standards and guidelines.
- Research: Conduct thorough research on various news topics to ensure content is well-informed and up-to-date.
- Multimedia Integration: Integrate multimedia elements such as video clips, images, and graphics to enhance the storytelling experience using Vimeo.
- Platform Management: Publish content across multiple platforms, including social media, websites, and mobile apps.
- Collaboration: Work closely with reporters, editors, and other team members to coordinate content and ensure a consistent editorial voice.
- Quality Control: Review content for factual accuracy, grammar, and style consistency before publication.
- Analytics: Monitor performance metrics and audience engagement to inform future content decisions and strategies.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in digital journalism and propose new ways to deliver micronews effectively.
- News Presentation: Deliver news stories, breaking news, and other content in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
- Script Writing: Write and edit scripts for news segments, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards
- Interviewing: Conduct live and recorded interviews with newsmakers, experts, and other guests
- Breaking News: Respond quickly and effectively to breaking news situations, providing live updates and information as it unfolds, on site and remotely.
- Public Engagement: Engage with viewers through social media, public appearances, and other platforms to build a connection with the audience.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in digital journalism, news production, or a related role.
- Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of news values and journalistic ethics.
- Proficiency in multimedia production and editing tools.
- Familiarity with content management systems and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional on-camera presence and communication skills.
