CAIR applauds lawmaker decision to boycott Netanyahu speech
The Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR has praised Democratic Congressman James Clyburn for refusing to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress.
He is urging other members to follow suit.
Netanyahu is scheduled to address a joint session of Congress on July 24.
CAIR has accused the Israeli leader of racism, war crimes, and disrespect toward the U.S. and is encouraging a boycott or protest of his speech.
The group’s director, Robert McCaw, emphasizes the need for moral action and criticizes any support for Netanyahu.
CAIR has condemned Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza and blames both Israel and the U.S., describing the violence as a genocide.
