Burkina Faso military regime appoints new prime minister
BAMAKO, Mali (AA) – Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo was appointed prime minister of Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Ouedraogo succeeds Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela, who was dismissed Friday by President Capt. Ibrahim Traore in a presidential decree.
Matias Traore, general secretary of the government and Cabinet, who delivered the decree, said, “He will be responsible, in the days to come, for constituting a government for the continuity of government action . . . .”
Ouedraogo, a journalist and news host, previously served as minister of state in charge of communications.
