Bombs dropped on Gaza surpass World War II Dresden, Hamburg, London total
Israel has dropped more than 70,000 tons of bombs on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, surpassing the combined tonnage used in Dresden, Hamburg, and London during World War II.
Historical records show the Germans dropped 18,300 tons of bombs on London, while the Allies dropped 8,500 tons on Hamburg and 3,900 tons on Dresden.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reports that this unprecedented bombardment aims to create a buffer zone by destroying buildings approximately one mile from Gaza’s east and north borders.
Israel has continued its brutal war on Gaza, despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire.
Nearly eight months into its war, which has killed over 36,000 Palestinians, vast swathes of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
