Billionaires and global leaders set to attend Trump’s inauguration
Elon Musk and other billionaires Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg will attend Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration on Monday.
Musk, the world’s richest person, had donated more than $250 million to Trump’s campaign.
He is slated to lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency alongside biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Reports confirm that foreign dignitaries, including Argentina President Javier Milei, who was the first to meet Trump post-election, also will attend.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will send an envoy, while Italian PM Giorgia Meloni is uncertain about attending.
Outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will join former Presidents Barack Obama, George Bush, and Bill Clinton, accompanied by former First Ladies Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton.
However, Michelle Obama will skip the ceremony, marking her second absence from a major event involving former presidents.
Vice President Kamala Harris, last year’s Democratic presidential candidate, will attend with her husband, Douglas Emhoff.
Observers say Trump’s invitation list breaks traditions, highlighting his global and billionaire connections.
