Biden’s biographer apprehends he could drop out of 2024 race
Foer, author of book about Biden’s years in office, said president is 80 years old and it is impossible to predict how he will age in next 2 years
WASHINGTON – President Biden’s biographer Franklin Foer says it would not be a complete shock if he decides not to run for re-election in 2024.
Foer, author of a book about Biden’s first two years in office, said Biden used the word “fate” a lot when talking about his life.
He said this suggests that the president was not fully committed to running again.
In addition, Biden is 80 years old and it is impossible to predict how he will age in the next two years.
“I would say it would, it would be a surprise to me. But it wouldn’t be a total surprise,” Foer said on a TV show, adding that “it wouldn’t be a total shock.
Biden has not signaled that he is considering withdrawing from the race, but he has faced questions inside and outside his party about his age.
Foer said his book, titled “The Last Politician,” describes how Biden was “underestimated” and how he used that to his advantage.
He also said the book looks at Biden’s career in politics and what techniques he uses to get things done.
