Bangladesh declares no entry for more Rohingya refugees
Bangladesh says it will not allow more Rohingya refugees into the country, citing 60,000 arrivals over the past two years.
Home Affairs Adviser retired Lt. Gen. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said Bangladesh no longer will allow any more Rohingya to enter under any circumstances.
With more than 1.2 million Rohingya already in camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh faces mounting pressure.
Chowdhury highlighted the Myanmar border is under the control of the Arakan Army, complicating formal communication and efforts to resolve the crisis.
Also, 28 Rohingya organizations have called on the Arakan Army to uphold the rights of minorities in Rakhine State, where conflict continues.
They demanded justice, equality, and peaceful coexistence for all ethnic and religious groups.
Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the crisis.
