Azerbaijan to establish Artificial Intelligence academy under new scheme
BAKU, Azerbaijan (MNTV) – An Artificial Intelligence Academy will be established in Azerbaijan as part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance talent and skills in AI.
The initiative is outlined in the “Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028,” approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
The strategy aims to position Azerbaijan as a regional leader in AI development by fostering collaboration with top global institutions and building a robust AI community.
Key components of the plan include partnering with at least two top-ranked foreign universities (ranked in the top 10 globally) between 2026 and 2027, training 500 AI engineers, and forming an AI community of 3,000 individuals.
To strengthen human resource potential in AI and data management, a competition platform will be launched.
The strategy also includes the creation of an AI information platform and the training of 500 state employees through the “Artificial Intelligence for Managers” course.
Additionally, the plan aims to expand the interactive training platform’s user base to 10,000 and organize 10 competitions involving 1,000 participants.
This ambitious strategy underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to advancing its capabilities in artificial intelligence, fostering innovation, and preparing its workforce for the demands of the digital economy.
By investing in education, collaboration, and community-building, the country aims to become a hub for AI development and expertise in the region.
