Assault on Gaza continues, 54 Palestinians killed
Over the past 24 hours, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that 54 Palestinians have been killed and 104 injured amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
Israeli bombings killed 24 people, including 16 children and six women, in Rafah in the southern region of Gaza.
Rescue efforts have been hindered as many remain trapped under rubble.
Israeli bombing targeted a car in Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza causing several injuries.
The aircrafts also targeted Palestinians in the area around the Al-Sourahah cemetery in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military intelligence head Major-General Aharon Haliva has resigned, taking responsibility for failing to prevent Hamas’ Oct. 7 cross-border attack.
Analysts suggest that his resignation reflects dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the conflict.
In Jerusalem, a car rammed into pedestrians, injuring three.
Footage from security cameras posted on several Israeli news websites showed a white car ramming into a group of people at a street corner.
Spain’s Foreign Minister Joss Manuel Albarez is calling for a lasting cease-fire and warns of the repercussions if Israel goes ahead with an attack on Rafah.
Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in an interview with a Turkish broadcaster has accused Israel of stalling cease-fire talks.
