Another journalist killed in Israeli strike in Gaza
ANKARA (AA) – Another Palestinian journalist was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip, bringing the total death toll since last Oct. 7 to 175, the government media office said on Sunday.
In a statement, the media office identified the new victim as Hassan Hamad, without giving details about the circumstances of his death.
“We condemn in the strongest terms the targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation,” it said, calling on the international community and international organizations to “deter the occupation and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes.”
Israel has continued its war on Gaza despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
It has killed nearly 41,900 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 97,100 others, according to local health authorities.
The Israeli onslaught has displaced almost the entire population of the territory.
Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
