Another Israeli soldier killed in Gaza, death toll rises to 30
JERUSALEM (AA) – The Israeli army said Monday that one more soldier had been killed during its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.
A military statement said the soldier, in the 9th battalion of the Armored Corps, was killed in combat in Gaza.
Israel said 30 soldiers had been killed and 260 others injured since it began expanded ground operations in the Gaza Strip on October 27.
The Israeli army launched air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip following several days of deadly aerial strikes.
At least 10,000 Palestinians, including 4,800 children and 2,550 women, have been killed in the Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip. Israeli death toll is nearly 1,600, according to the official figures.
Besides the large number of casualties and massive displacements, basic supplies are running low for Gaza’s 2.3 million residents due to the Israeli siege.
