African Development Bank gives positive assessment of Corridor 13 project
N’DJAMENA, Chad (MNTV)- The African Development Bank (ADB) has expressed optimism regarding the progress of the Corridor 13 project, a vital infrastructure initiative aimed at fostering regional connectivity.
This ambitious project, designed to link Chad, CAR, and the Republic of Congo, holds immense potential for boosting trade and economic integration in the heart of Africa, reports Chad News.
During a recent working visit to CAR, the ADB’s chief specialist and head of the Corridor 13 project commended the advancements made. Notably, the assessment highlighted the pivotal role of Eric Rokoss Kamo, the Minister of Equipment and Public Works of the CAR, in driving the project forward. The ADB representative acknowledged the minister’s “efforts and strict approach,” leading to success.
The Corridor 13 project is crucial for the landlocked CAR, which faces significant challenges in accessing regional markets. Improved road infrastructure will facilitate the movement of goods and people, reducing transportation costs and stimulating economic activity.
The project also aims to strengthen regional cooperation and promote cross-border trade, contributing to the broader goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The ADB’s positive assessment underscores the importance of effective governance and collaboration in driving infrastructure development in Africa. By commending the progress of the work on the project, the ADB aims to encourage continued investment and support for the Corridor 13 project, recognizing its potential to transform the region’s economic landscape.
