AFL-CIO backs Harris for president
In a significant boost to her presidential bid, vice-president Kamala Harris has secured the endorsement of the AFL-CIO, which represents 12.5 million union workers in the US.
AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler praised Harris for her partnership in advancing a pro-labor agenda.
She also praised Harris for emphasizing a commitment to creating quality union jobs and strengthening the economy.
Harris’s presidential campaign has been gaining momentum with over 28,000 new volunteers signing up.
The vice president has already won the backing of enough delegates to secure the Democratic nomination.
