Afghan Artist Sends 20 Tons Of Bagram Garbage Back To US
Afghan artist Aziz Hazara collected 20 tons of garbage from Bagram air base, formerly the main U.S. military base in Afghanistan.
He then sent the shipment to the United States as his “gift to the American people.”
Its purpose is to retrace the “supply chain of the global war on terror” through international ports and cities where American soldiers and equipment passed.
The UAE-based The National reports that the shipment is headed to the U.S. after crossing the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic.
Hazara told The National the garbage’s journey would take up to one year.
