Acting governor dies in suicide bombing in Afghan province
KABUL, Afghanistan – The acting governor of an Afghan province was killed by a suicide bomber Tuesday.
The bomber, who was driving a car filled with explosives, detonated it near the vehicle in which Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, — the deputy governor of the northern province of Badakhshan, was sitting.
The region’s police chief was killed in a similar attack several months ago.
Muazuddin Ahmadi, head of the province’s Culture and Information Ministry, said the deputy governor was target of suicide bombing.
The driver was also killed and six others wounded in the attack.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
However, authorities attribute these attacks to ISIS.
The head of the mining authority was also killed in a bomb attack last April.
