U.S. House Passes Resolution Supporting Ukraine; White House Asks For $10 Billion In Aid
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bipartisan resolution Wednesday supporting Ukraine and calling for a ceasefire amid Russia’s war.
It cleared the House floor with a 426-3 vote.
Republican Reps. Paul Gosar of Arizona, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Matt Rosendale of Montana cast the only opposing votes.
The non-binding resolution also calls for the full withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory and backs continued use of sanctions.
Meanwhile, the White House requested $10 billion in U.S. aid Thursday to help Ukraine and Central European partners with humanitarian efforts, security and economic assistance.
