No Space In GOP For ‘White Supremacists Or Anti-Semitism’ McConnel Says
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell issued a statement in response to reports that Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar spoke at a white nationalist event.
The America First Political Action Conference in Orlando was organized by Nicholas Fuentes, a white-nationalist activist.
Fuentes rose to prominence after attending the deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017.
Greene, of Georgia, attended the conference in person, while Gosar, of Arizona, addressed attendees in a 30-second prerecorded video.
McConnell said “there’s no place in the Republican Party for white supremacists or anti-Semitism.”
Greene recently told right-wing podcast host Alex Jones that McConnell and his wife, former transportation secretary Elaine Chao, are “fully bought and paid for by China.”
