Thousands March Across Europe Against Russian Invasion
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets across Europe on Sunday denouncing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
They were dressed in the blue and yellow of Ukraine’s flag and carried posters reading “No World War 3” and “Russians go home.”
Demonstrators chanted “shame” against Russian President Vladimir Putin while others waved banners with slogans such as “Putin murderer” or “stop the monster.”
In the German capital Berlin, police estimated turnout to be at least 100,000, while protests in Prague and Amsterdam drew 70,000 and 15,000, respectively.
Organizers of the Berlin protest put the numbers at five times the police estimate.
