Trump White House Turned Over Records Torn Up By Former President, National Archives Confirms
The United States National Archives on Monday issued a rare statement confirming that the White House turned over records including paper documents previously ripped up by former president Donald Trump.
White House records management officials during the Trump Administration recovered and taped together some of the torn-up records, the archives noted.
The documents were turned over to the National Archives at the end of the Trump Administration’s term in office.
The Washington Post reported some of the 700 pages of documents provided to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 US Capitol attack, had been ripped up and taped back together.
Former president Trump had sought to block the release of the records.
