100 Israeli Soldiers Break Into Ibrahimi Mosque While illegal Settlers Attack Al-Aqsa
About 100 Israeli soldiers broke into the Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern West Bank city of Hebron Monday, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs criticized the military intrusion into the site, calling it a serious indication of “Israeli occupation authorities’ intention to impose total control over the site and turn it into a synagogue.”
In Ramadan 1994, American-Israeli settler Baruch Goldstein broke into the Ibrahimi Mosque and opened fire at Palestinian Muslim worshippers, killing 29.
Four Palestinians were killed that same day in clashes that broke out around the mosque in response to the massacre.
In related news, dozens of Jewish settlers defiled the Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound Sunday morning under tight Israeli police protection.
