Law Enforcement Culture Of ‘Blue Wall’ On Trial For 3 Officers In George Floyd Murder
As the trials of J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao opened, prosecutors said none of the three intervened to prevent the murder of George Floyd in May 2020.
The three Minneapolis police officers are charged with depriving Floyd of his civil rights and failing to provide or access any medical intervention as he was murdered by Derek Chauvin.
Chauvin is the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder and manslaughter for Floyd’s death.
Kueng and Thao are also charged with failing to stop Chauvin from kneeling on Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes.
The Associated Press reports attorneys for the Floyd family said bystander footage the day of the murder shows the officers directly contributed to Floyd’s death.
